The Bacoo Rum is produced in the Dominican Republic. The rum distilled from molasses bears the name of the Caribbean legend of the Bacoo. A Bacoo is a spirit that feels at home mainly in rum bottles and is therefore often called genie. If you keep the little goblin happy and feed him with milk and bananas, he also fulfills one or the other wish of his "owner". Legend has it that if a bacoo is locked in a rum bottle, you should throw the bottle into the ocean. This is the only way to keep him at bay.
